Yearbook addressed to historians, especially economic ones, economists, sociologists and representatives of social sciences who are interested in issues related to the theory and practice of management in the context of economic, social and cultural conditions. The first issue was published in 1967, and prof. Czesław Łuczak and prof. Jerzy Topolski were the founders of the journal. The original idea of the editors was to make the results of Polish scientists’ research in the field of economic and social history available in congress languages. Today, the pages of the journal are open to problematic and review articles on economic and social history and new phenomena in economic and social life, their determinants, theoretical approaches and socio-economic hypotheses.

The journal is oublished both in print and online.

Publication the journal is co-financed by the Faculty of History of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań and by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education as part of the “Support for scientific journals” program (WCN 2019–2020).
